President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari received Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-Designate Mukhtar Babayev.

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated Azerbaijan on its chairmanship of COP29, expressing his hope that the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change would support the climate-related finance needs in developing countries.

The Pakistani President hailed the Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations, emphasizing their interest in further developing bilateral cooperation across various domains. He urged for promoting mutual relations, bilateral exchanges and people-to-people contacts to further strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries.

Minister Mukhtar Babayev stressed the need for further enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, especially in the realms of tourism and culture.

The President of Pakistan was invited to participate in the COP29, scheduled to be held in Baku this November.
