Azerbaijan, Türkiye explore ways to enhance judicial cooperation

On July 7, Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of Azerbaijan’s Supreme Court, met with a Turkish delegation led by Adem Albayrak, First Vice President of Türkiye’s Court of Cassation.

Inam Karimov highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the two countries across all fields, including the judicial sphere. He emphasized that the exchange of expertise plays an important role in advancing legal reforms and enhancing the efficiency of judicial operations.

Karimov underlined the significance of sharing mutual experience in areas such as the protection of citizens' rights in judicial proceedings, modern governance, and transparent administration of justice.

Adem Albayrak noted that the ties between the two countries are of strategic importance not only in the political and cultural fields but also in the judicial domain. He praised Azerbaijan’s recent progress in judicial and legal reforms and affirmed Türkiye’s readiness to share its experience and provide necessary support in this area.

As part of the meeting, a roundtable was held on the application of Turkish legislation, where Azerbaijani and Turkish lawyers and judges discussed specific judicial precedents. The discussions focused on approaches to assessing moral damages, determining compensation amounts, legal justifications, and the principles of public justice.
