Azerbaijan keen on expanding cooperation with Tajikistan in economy and finance

Anar Karimov, Azerbaijan's First Deputy Minister of Finance, met with his Tajik counterpart Majidi Yusuf Khairullo.

The sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, the prospects for cooperation arising from the Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2024, the results of the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, as well as opportunities for expanding trade and economic relations and strengthening investment cooperation.

Anar Karimov stated that the friendly relations between the two countries are developing on an upward trend, noting the positive dynamics in mutual trade.

He stressed the importance of further expanding economic cooperation, adding that there is great potential in the fields of agro-industrial cooperation, industrial cooperation, transport, and logistics.

The Azerbaijani First Deputy Minister emphasized the strategic significance of cooperation within international financial institutions, underscoring the need to further strengthen mutual support and coordination on these platforms.

The Tajik First Deputy Minister of Finance hailed the development of relations between the two countries.

According to him, Tajikistan is interested in expanding cooperation in the economic and financial sectors, further strengthening the investment climate, and implementing mutually beneficial projects.

The sides exchanged views on reforms in the field of public finance in Azerbaijan, including efforts in the areas of budget planning, treasury systems, public debt management, and digital transformation.

The parties also emphasized the importance of exchanging experience and strengthening institutional cooperation in these areas.
