The former President of Romania Emil Konstantinescu met with the staff of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan"

The former President of Romania, who is on a visit to Baku to participate in the XI Global Baku Forum, a member of the Board of Directors of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, the head of the Institute for Advanced studies in Levant Culture and Civilization in Bucharest, an honorary member of the Editorial Board of and the founder of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan" Emil Constantinescu, laureate of the "Friend of Azerbaijan" golden order, met with the staff of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan".   

The meeting took place in the editorial office of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan". Emil Nasirli, the editor-in-chief of the international magazine and corresponding member of the International Academy of Sciences by welcoming Emil Constantinescu, the former President of Romania said that after Azerbaijan gained independence, the geography of bilateral relations between countries expanded and Romania supported the independence of Azerbaijan on December 11, 1991. In July 1995, Heydar Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, made an official visit to Romania, and during his visit to Romania, the Declaration on friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and Romania, as well as agreements on science, education, culture and sports, and economic and research-technology cooperation agreements were signed.

Editor-in-Chief Emil Nasirli informed that as a manifestation of mutual relations, the Embassy of Romania in Azerbaijan was opened in 1997, and in 2001, the Embassy of Azerbaijan was opened in Romania for the first time in Eastern European countries. On June 29, 1998, during the official visit of Romanian President Emil Constantinescu to Azerbaijan at the invitation of Heydar Aliyev, the declaration "On the development of friendly relations and partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Romania" was signed.  

Emil Nasirli also mentioned that head of the state Heydar Aliyev, who by emphasizing that the documents signed between Azerbaijan and Romania are a good cause for further development of cooperation between our countries, has always satisfied with the current status of relations between our countries thereby stressed this factor in a number of international organizations. 

The editor-in-chief was satisfied with the meeting with the head of our state and getting to know him, stating that Mr. Constantinescu considered President Heydar Aliyev's visit to Romania as an important stage in the development of relations between our countries, and reminded that the documents signed by Mr. Emil Constantinescu for the strengthening of Azerbaijan-Romania cooperation at that time might be good cause for strengthening further relations between our countries. 

Later, Emil Nasirli talked about opportunities for cooperation in economy, trade, culture, education and a number of other fields and emphasized the special importance of strengthening Romanian-Azerbaijani relations for both countries. The editor-in-chief stated that following the policy implemented by the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the relations between our country and the countries of the world are becoming closer, with making successful achievements in the field of economic, cultural and political relations. Along with many countries of the world, the relations between Azerbaijan and Romania are also developing on an ascending pathway. 
At the meeting, the former President of Romania Emil Konstantinescu highly appreciated the actions taken in expanding the international relations of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan", and expressed his satisfaction once again at being an honorary member of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan" since May of last year, as well as being awarded with the "Friend of Azerbaijan" golden order established by the magazine in the same year. 

The former President of Romania, Emil Constantinescu, wished success to the Editorial Board and staff of the international magazine “My Azerbaijan” for their future endeavors, and highly appreciated the work done by the Azerbaijani side in strengthening relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Later, the former President of Romania, Emil Constantinescu, got acquainted with the photo booth depicting the activities of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan" over the past years in the main editor's office, and then he wrote his sincere wishes to "Memorial Book of Honor" of the magazine as a guest of the editor office of the international magazine "My Azerbaijan" in 2024.
