The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has given the greenlight for hosting FIS competitions at Azerbaijan’s Shahdag Mountain Resort.

Shahdag Mountain Resort was presented with a certificate of Alpine Homologation (“course approval”) by the FIS.

The process was conducted in accordance with the application for requesting an inspection for homologation by the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation to the FIS last April.

As a result of the homologation process at the resort’s downhill carried out by the experts appointed by the FIS, Shahdag Mountain Resort is given the right to host international competitions in slalom, giant slalom, and super G Alpine skiing.

At the same time, Shahdag Mountain Resort can be included in the FIS competition calendar.

The FIS homologation is the approval issued by a FIS appointed homologation inspector and certifies that the homologated Cross-Country course is suitable to host FIS competitions.
