Bulgarian media outlets have published articles highlighting the international political significance of the Joint Declaration signed in Washington D.C by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and the United States, as well as the text of the Agreement on Establishment of Peace and Inter-State relations initialled by the two countries’ foreign ministers.

The articles mentioned that this agreement brings an end to the decades-long conflict and makes a significant contribution to regional and global security and development.

According to the articles, the agreement holds strategic importance for establishing international connectivity between Asia and Europe and for opening regional communication routes. It is specifically noted that the agreement ensures unhindered transit between mainland Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through Armenian territory, while also allowing Armenia to benefit from trade and transport links via Azerbaijani territory.

The articles also emphasized that on August 8, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia jointly appealed to the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, requesting the closure of the OSCE Minsk Process and its related structures, which had been tasked with mediating the peaceful resolution of the conflict since 1992 but failed to fully this mission.
