"Throughout history, Azerbaijan has been located along the rich Silk Road, serving not only as a crossroads of trade routes but also as a bridge bringing together cultures and shared values. Even today, holding joint discussions in the fraternal land of Azerbaijan to preserve our traditions and pass them on to future generations remains of great importance," said Uzbekistan’s Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction, Rano Turdiboeva, as she addressed the meeting of ministers responsible for family and social policy, held as part of the second session of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).

"She noted that throughout history, women have been one of the key pillars in forming, safeguarding, and carrying forward the family hearth. In today’s world, however, women’s role is no longer confined to the family—they are actively represented in all spheres of society, particularly in governance and public life."

"A comprehensive legal framework must be developed and its practical implementation ensured in this area. In Uzbekistan, funds have already been allocated from the state budget for this purpose, and relevant committees have been established. These bodies carry out important work to ensure gender equality, protect women’s rights, and improve their social well-being," the minister said.

According to her, education and awareness-raising for women are among the most powerful tools in this regard. Enhancing women’s knowledge and skills contributes not only to their personal development but also to the progress of society as a whole.
