Georgian delegation visits Central Election Commission

The delegation led by Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Georgia Giorgi Kalandarishvili who is on a visit to Azerbaijan to monitor the snap presidential elections, has today visited the Central Election Commission (CEC).

 

During the meeting with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan (CEC) Mazahir Panahov, the sides hailed the high level of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, emphasizing that these relations also contributed to building close cooperation between the supreme electoral authorities of the two countries.

 

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission pointed out that mutual relations and exchange of experience played an important role in the improvement of the electoral system.

 

Mazahir Panahov noted that all conditions have been created for voters to come to the polls, and express their will freely and independently.

 

Head of the Georgian delegation Giorgi Kalandarishvili mentioned that transparency is of particular importance in the election process, highlighting the significance of exchanging experience in this field. Georgian CEC chief expressed his confidence that the elections would be conducted in compliance with the law.
