Under the "Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Türkiye on the construction of residential buildings, an elementary school, a kindergarten and a cultural center in Kahramanmaras province of Türkiye", reconstruction works will be carried out in one of the regions affected by the earthquake in Kahramanmaras. A certain amount has been earmarked by the Government of Azerbaijan for the implementation of that project,” Housing Development Administration of the Republic of Türkiye (TOKİ) Omer Bulut told journalists.

Some leading Turkish media outlets, including Demiroren News Agency’s (DHA), "Habertürk" website and Ihlas News Agency (IHA) posted articles highlighting the visit of the head of TOKI Omar Bulut and Chairman of the Board of the State Housing Development Agency (MIDA) Sadig Sadigov to the area to familiarize themselves with the reconstruction and landscaping works worth $100 million allocated by the Azerbaijani government for the building of the residential buildings and working places in the “Azerbaijani avenue of Kahramanmaras”.

During the inspection of the area, which was attended by Mayor of Kahramanmaras Hayrettin Güngör, the people responsible for the construction informed Bulut and Sadigov about the progress of construction in the area. Omer Bulut said that the construction of apartments for the earthquake victims in Kahramanmaras is in full swing and the apartments will be presented to their owners soon.

The articles drew the readers’ attention to the fact that Azerbaijan will build 1.000 apartments in Kahramanmaras, paying $100 million for the part of the avenue to be built on 320 hectares.

“The area, where the Azerbaijan avenue will be built, is to become commercially important. The works have already started, and our intention is to complete the construction and hand it over to the rightful owners within a year” the head of TOKI noted.
