WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan hosts One Health dialogue in preparation for COP29

The World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Azerbaijan hosted a symposium on Thursday titled “One Health Uncovered: Preparing for COP29 with Intersectoral Insights” to prepare for COP29, which will be held in Baku this year.

The event brought together local and international partners, including decision-makers and technical experts from the COP29 presidency, relevant ministries, universities, civil society, the private sector, youth, and UN agencies. The focus was on the One Health approach and its significant role in developing sustainable strategies to reduce threats at the human-animal-environment interface.

Discussions also covered strategies for integrating environmental considerations into One Health action in the context of climate change.

Additionally, the symposium featured the presentation of the One Health Joint Action Plan.
