Switzerland's Stadler Rail Group is constructing a Regional Service Center in Baku's Boyukshor area, with plans to inaugurate it in 2026, Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), told Report.

Rustamov announced that ADY and Stadler Rail Group have signed a contract for the provision of railway vehicle repair, maintenance, and consultation services.

"Under the contract, a Regional Service Center will be built in the Boyukshor area, catering not only to Azerbaijan but also to neighboring countries," he added.

According to Rustamov, the center will handle the repair and maintenance of all types of actively used Stadler railway vehicles. The technical support provided to Stadler trains will ensure a readiness factor of over 95% for these vehicles.

The chairman also mentioned that ADY aimed to acquire 10 passenger trains from Stadler Rail Group this year.

"Four of these trains are already in use, three are in the country, and the remaining three will be delivered within the year," he concluded.
