On August 19, Sultan Raev, Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), was awarded the Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary by the decree of Hungarian President Tamás Sulyok, proposed by the country’s PM Victor Orban.
At the Vigado Palace in Budapest, the award was presented by Balázs Hankó, Hungary’s Minister of Culture and Innovation, during the solemn reception marking Saint Stepahen’s Day – the country’s natinal holiday.
The TURKSOY Secretary General was awarded the order in recognition of his exceptional contributions in developing cultural cooperation and friendship between the Turkic states.
