On August 20, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minster of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with his Cypriot counterpart, Constantinos Kombos.
Minister Kombos congratulated Azerbaijan on progress achieved in the normalization process with Armenia, particularly within the framework of the recent U.S. summit attended by President Ilham Aliyev.
The two ministers also discussed preparations for Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2026, as well as regional matters. As part of his country’s EU presidency, Kombos emphasized readiness to contribute to the regional peace process.
The telephone conversation also addressed other matters of mutual concern.
