Azerbaijan joins international roundtable on "Islamophobia and Education" in Malaysia

Ravan Hasanov, Executive Director of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center (BIMC), is attending the international roundtable on "Islamophobia and Education" in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The roundtable is taking place at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC-IIUM) on July 17-18.

Ravan Hasanov delivered a speech at the event and will moderate a breakout session on "Exploring Collaborative Partnerships" on the second day.

During his visit to Malaysia, Ravan Hasanov met with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to discuss cooperation prospects. The meeting also focused on promoting the experience of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center and its efforts in combating Islamophobia. Other participants, scientists, and thinkers of the roundtable also attended the meeting.

The main purpose of the meeting was to set up a working group on Islamophobia and education. This group will explore whether Islamophobia can become a subject of study under the university's charter. The goal is to systematically develop Islamophobia education and present this course to global universities.
