Azerbaijan’s cultural capital of Shusha to host Vagif Poetry Days

Co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, Vagif Poetry Days will be held in the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – Shusha on July 17-19.

The poetry festival will be attended by officials, figures of literature, culture and science, as well as poets and writers from the Turkic states, who are visiting Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union.

As part of Vagif Poetry Days, varies events will be organized at historical and cultural sites of Shusha, including the Museum-Mausoleum Complex of Molla Panah Vagif restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, as well as the House of Khurshidbanu Natavan, in front of Shusha City Executive Authority, as well as Shusha Hotel - Congress Center.

The mausoleum and Poetry House of Molla Panah Vagif were opened in Shusha on 14 January 1982 with the participation of the National Leader of the people of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev. It is during this visit that National Leader Heydar Aliyev gave instructions to hold Vagif Poetry Days.

It will be the fourth edition of Vagif Poetry Days, which have a history of 40 years, held following the liberation of Shusha from occupation.

Culture
