In Azerbaijan, the gross domestic product (GDP) per capita is approximately 40% lower than in high-income countries, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli said in Baku during the presentation of the World Bank's annual global World Development Report (WDR) for 2024, Report informs.

"Currently, this indicator in our country is $6,000, while in high-income countries it is $10,000. To reduce this gap, it is necessary to diversify the economy, including stimulating the development of the trade sector, covering both goods and services," he noted.
