The "Akademik Tofiq İsmayılov" diving vessel, operated by the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Closed Joint-Stock Company, a company under AZCON Holding, has been returned to operation after undergoing a major overhaul at the Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard, ASCO told AZERTAC.

As part of the overhaul, the vessel’s main engines, windlasses, pumps, piping systems, electrical equipment, crew accommodation areas, sanitary facilities, and galley were fully repaired. The underwater and above-water parts of the hull were cleaned and repainted, while damaged hull sections and sacrificial anodes were replaced.

The propulsion and steering systems, bottom and side fittings, anchor equipment, and chains were also serviced. The helicopter deck’s safety railings and drainage systems were overhauled.

The vessel’s communications and electro-radio navigation systems were upgraded with three new fixed radio stations, a gyrocompass, and a new Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB). Additionally, the vessel was equipped with the new Inmarsat-C system.

Following successful sea trials, the vessel has officially resumed operations.

With a length of 91.8 meters and a width of 17 meters, the "Akademik Tofiq Ismayilov" is equipped with a Dynamic Positioning (DP) system. It is designed for diving operations at depths of up to 300 meters, as well as other complex subsea missions.
