First railway PPP project launched in Kyrgyzstan

The National Investment Agency under the President of Kyrgyzstan signed the Agreement on public-private partnership "Trans-Eurasian route" in the "project sandbox" mode, according to the the Kyrgyz news agency (Kabar).

According to the agency, the agreement was concluded between the National Investment Agency, the state enterprise "National Company "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" and the consortium All American Rail Group Global Infrastructure Partner LLC.

Director of the National Investment Agency Talantbek Imanov said that this is the first PPP project in the railway sector of Kyrgyzstan, which promises to be an important step in the development of the country's transport infrastructure.

"The total investment is about 3 billion US dollars, which will not only create new jobs, but also significantly improve the transport network, providing economic benefits for the country in the long term," Imanov said.

The project will open new horizons for the transport system of Kyrgyzstan, improve transport links with neighboring countries and make the economy more competitive in the international arena.
