The 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) kicked off in Baku under the chairmanship of Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
The event, gathering a total number of 35 parliamentary delegations, totaling close to 280 members, will address a number of critical matters.
Considered as a vital platform in terms of parliamentary diplomacy, bringing together the Asian parliaments, the APA contributes to fostering dialogue between the legislative bodies of its member states.
Notably, Baku has already welcomed a number of parliamentary speakers, who arrived in Azerbaijan to attend the event, including Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Natalya Kochanova, Speaker of the Republic Council of the National Assembly of Belarus, Khalid Hilal Nasser Al Maawali, Speaker of the Consultative Council of the Sultanate of Oman and other officials.
