As part of his working visit to Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov.
During the meeting, the ministers lauded the steady development of relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, rooted in their shared ethnic, historical, cultural, and religious ties. They stressed the importance of further expanding their comprehensive strategic partnership.
The meeting also saw discussions on issues arising from regular high-level contacts, as well as opportunities for expanding cooperation across political, socio-economic, energy, humanitarian, education, tourism, transportation, and agricultural domains.
Both parties hailed the cooperation and mutual support not only at the bilateral level but also within international and regional platforms. They underscored the significance of further diversifying cooperation based on brotherhood and solidarity within the Organization of Turkic States.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed gratitude on behalf of the Azerbaijani state and its people for Uzbekistan's brotherly contribution to the post-conflict restoration and reconstruction efforts, acknowledging their construction of the Mirzo Ulugbek School in the city of Fuzuli.
The ministers also emphasized the significance of intensifying the work of the consultation mechanism between the foreign ministries of both countries and further enhancing the legal framework.
The two also exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
