On August 18, the fifth Meeting of senior officials from member states of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) commenced in the city of Trabzon, Türkiye.
Farid Jafarov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture, is attending the event.
The primary focus of this gathering is the preparation and review of key documents, including comprehensive activity reports and forward-looking strategic plans. These materials are slated for subsequent discussion and approval by the TURKSOY Permanent Council, which oversees the implementation of the organization’s cultural initiatives and policies.
As part of the visit, the deputy ministers held meetings with the Mayor of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality and the Governor of Trabzon. The discussions focused on promoting the cultures of the Turkic world and deepening regional cooperation.
Subsequently, Deputy Minister Farid Jafarov delivered a speech at the closing ceremony held at the Girls Monastery in Trabzon.
