Yesterday, a meeting was held with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan, Issam bin Saleh al-Quteili, in the "Xalq newspaper" editorial office.

Greeting the Saudi diplomat on behalf of the editorial team, the editor-in-chief Aflatun Amashov said that the favorable conditions created by the friendly relations of the heads of state require the cooperation of media organizations to be brought to a new level in bringing our nations that share many common values ​​closer to each other. He said that the efforts of the friendly country's embassy in Azerbaijan in this direction give rise to new initiatives. In this regard, there is a need for detailed consultation and determination of common goals.

Stating that Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan, and now bilateral relations have reached a high level of development, the ambassador informed the participants of the meeting that the top leaders of the country congratulated the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of his brilliant victory in the extraordinary presidential elections. At the same time, Ambassador Issam bin Saleh al-Quteyli emphasized the necessity of wide use of the possibilities of media organizations in supporting the high-level dialogue between our countries and in obtaining detailed information about each other's lives. He noted that creative relations, mutual visits, and joint events of journalist collectives can direct efforts in this direction to a more efficient course.

Reminding that "Khalq newspaper" has taken certain steps in this direction in the recent period, Aflatun Amashov said that the editorial office led by him will continue to spare its contribution in the expansion of media cooperation between our countries and its benefit to our peoples. He suggested the establishment of close cooperation with "Khalq newspaper" and one of the influential publications of Saudi Arabia, mutual exchange of information. The editor-in-chief suggested organizing a Forum of Journalists of Muslim Countries in Riyadh or Baku.

Issam bin Saleh al-Qutayli said that the diplomatic mission headed by him will help the media community of our countries to determine joint goals. Appreciating the editor-in-chief's initiative, Ambassador Issam bin Saleh al-Quteyli said that he is ready to organize the exchange of experience and mutual visits between the media members of the two countries, that they attach great importance to this field and that the time has come to take practical action.
