Relations with neighboring states occupy a special and principled position in Azerbaijan`s foreign policy. This year witnessed the development of bilateral cooperation and the practical implementation of agreements through high-level meetings with fraternal Türkiye, as well as Russia and Georgia,” said Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a press conference summarizing the year.

“The armed terrorist attack on Azerbaijan`s embassy in Iran this January escalated tensions in our relations, leading to the evacuation of embassy staff. However, discussions about the prospects for relations continued, and high-level contacts were maintained,” the minister underlined.
