The current conditions are favorable for the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan, Russian MP Leonid Kalashnikov, chairperson of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Report informs, citing the Armenian press.
"I think that currently Armenia and Azerbaijan are really one step closer to signing a peace treaty. Let's say that the events that took place and ultimately led to the current situation were moving in the right direction. Only three regional neighbors had to agree on this issue: Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia. I've always talked about it. I have never believed in the OSCE Minsk Group on Karabakh, where the co-chairs are the United States and France. They did not even take a small step in this direction," he stressed.
The Russian deputy noted that Armenia should improve relations with Azerbaijan and Türkiye because they are neighboring countries. Speaking about the supporters of revanchism in Yerevan, Kalashnikov said that the Karabakh issue has been closed and there is no point in bringing it up now.
