Connecting Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to Azerbaijan’s mainland through the Agband bridge and the territory of Iran is an indicator of Baku’s trust in Tehran, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said at a meeting with the governor of Iran’s East Azarbaijan province, Zeinolabedin Razavi Khorram, Report informs referring to ISNA.
“The recent agreement between Tehran and Baku on connecting Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic to Azerbaijan’s mainland through the Agband bridge and the territory of our country is an indicator of the trust of the Azerbaijani government and people in Iran,” the ambassador noted.
The diplomat added that the position of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Iranian counterpart Ibrahim Raisi is a good step in deepening relations.
