The results of the 10th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) in Astana can be described as very productive and breakthrough. The Organization of Turkic States is distinguished by its dynamics, it constantly develops, expands the sphere of its competence and cooperation, Kazakh political scientist, PhD in political sciences Talgat Kaliyev told AZERTAC.

According to him, if earlier Organization of Turkic States was mainly considered as a cultural association, now it is also an economic structure with its Turkic Investment Fund.

In this regard, he touched on Kazakhstan's statement at yesterday's summit about the need to increase trade turnover between the countries, noting that this is an ambitious but quite realistic task.

"Besides, political statements are also made, shared positions, views, and approaches are worked out. That is, the Organization of Turkic States is systematically enhancing its identity - international, global, and, of course, it will be perceived by the world community as a serious and authoritative organization," Talgat Kaliyev emphasized.

He noted that it is not about cooperation in the field of security. "Now we step up bilateral contacts towards military and military-technical cooperation. But I think that this measurement is also not far away, taking into account the growth of turbulence in the whole world," he underlined.

According to the political scientist, the future of this organization is quite promising, taking into account the importance of the development of the Middle Corridor, which will pass through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

"In my opinion, with the development of the capacity to pass through the Caspian Sea, both the economic potential of the OTG and its strategic importance for the whole world will be increased," the expert added.
