Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Eldar Salimov has met with the members of the Friendship Association with Azerbaijan in the Chamber of Representatives of the Jordanian Parliament.

Chairman of the Jordan-Azerbaijan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Association, Nimr Abdul al-Hamid Abd Allah al-Salihat hailed the excellent level of relations between the two friendly countries’ legislative bodies. He also stressed the importance of holding reciprocal visits of parliament speakers and members. The chairman also noted that Azerbaijan's international authority is growing, adding that the important global events and efforts of the Non-Aligned Movement resonated in the Arab world.

Ambassador Eldar Salimov provided detailed information about the actions that will be taken to advance relations between Azerbaijan and Jordan. He underlined that the close parliamentary cooperation significantly contributes to the development of bilateral ties. The ambassador said that this May, the Jordanian delegation led by Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ahmed Al-Safadi attended an event in Baku to mark the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, adding that President Ilham Aliyev also received the Jordanian delegation.

The diplomat also highlighted the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories as well as the successful reforms implemented in various fields in Azerbaijan.
