A press conference dedicated to the outcomes of the First Meeting of the Foreign Affairs Committee Chairs of the Parliaments of the Turkic States has been held in Milli Majlis.
At the briefing, Samad Seyidov, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Interparliamentary Ties, emphasized the historical importance of the meeting for the Turkic world, highlighting the key issues discussed and the conclusions reached.
Seyidov underscored the importance of developing relations among Turkic states in both bilateral and multilateral formats, including at the parliamentary level.
Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, Fuat Oktay, highlighted the successful organization of the event, noting the fruitful discussions held. He expressed his gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for the initiative of holding the meeting, to the President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his support, to the heads of brotherly Turkic states, and heads of parliaments. Fuat Oktay underlined the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and interparliamentary cooperation in protecting the common interests of Turkic states, and shared his views on the future prospects of this cooperation.
The conference concluded with the participants addressing questions from media representatives.
