Italian RAI TV Channel highlights Azerbaijan's achievements in space and innovation ecosystem

The Italian RAI TV channel has broadcast a report highlighting Azerbaijan's achievements in the space and innovation ecosystem.

Barbara Carfagna, RAI’s correspondent, who travelled to Azerbaijan, described the country as a technologically advancing one. She noted that Azerbaijan, which is rich in natural resources, has established its independent digital future and technological sovereignty.

She also emphasized that Azerbaijan plays an important role in the development of the space industry, adding that the satellites it has launched into orbit for various purposes have contributed to ensuring the country's information security and, at the same time, it has eliminated its dependence on foreign partners in the field of telecommunications. Barbara Carfagna further noted that Azerbaijan has its own orbital position in space and has acquired unique space resources.

The report also includes interviews with Sameddin Asadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan; Dunay Badirkhanov, Acting Chairman of the Board of Azercosmos; Rashad Khaligov, Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development; and Yevgeniya Bikmurzina, Head of the Agency’s Innovation Ecosystem Department.

The report mentions that Azercosmos is the first satellite operator in the region, providing telecommunications and Earth observation services through its satellites. It further notes that Azerbaijan plays an important role in the development of an innovative space ecosystem, improving its activities and providing new services and solutions.

The Italian TV Channel also hails the activities of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, that assists local entrepreneurs in acquiring modern technology and technological equipment. The Agency supports innovation-driven scientific research, stimulates innovative projects, including startups, and finances them through grants, concessional loans, and venture capital.
