Gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Italy are forecast at 9.6 billion cubic meters this year, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said at a meeting with the Minister of Environment and Energy Security of Italy Gilberto Pichetto Fratin in Milan, Report informs referring to the energy ministry.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the energy sector within the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as the Italian presidency of the G7.
In addition, cooperation with Ansaldo Energia on the equipment of the 1,280 MW power plant under construction and substations in the liberated territories was discussed and the prospects for the supply of renewable energy were assessed.
The Italian side expressed interest in the supply of “green energy” from Azerbaijan through the “Caspian-Black Sea-Europe Green Energy Corridor.”
