Energy Minister of Azerbaijan expected at Green Hydrogen Summit in UAE

On April 16, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov will take part in the 2nd annual Green Hydrogen Summit in the UAE, Report informs, citing Masdar company (UAE).

"Minister Parviz Shahbazov will be one of the keynote speakers at the forum, which will begin on April 16 in Abu Dhabi. He will participate in a high-level panel on ‘National Strategies and Policies to Accelerate the Hydrogen Economy," the company said.

Among the keynote speakers of the panel are also the Parliamentary Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yoshida Nobuhiro and the Special Envoy for Energy of the Economic Affairs and Climate Policy Ministry of the Netherlands Frederik Wisselink.

The panel will discuss the role of hydrogen, measures taken by governments to remove market barriers and create supply and demand at the national and international levels, and the impact of hydrogen on national energy systems.

“The Green Hydrogen Summit will once again bring together policymakers, leading industry players, investors and civil society leaders from the region and around the world. A series of impactful dialogues will explore the critical role of hydrogen in decarbonizing the energy system and what is needed to realize the use of green hydrogen at scale to support a just energy transition towards net zero emissions by 2050,” the company noted.

The key guest of the hydrogen summit will be former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
