Average broadband Internet speed increases in Azerbaijan

In December 2023, Azerbaijan ranked 115th among 178 countries in average fixed broadband Internet speed, up one notch from November. The average download speed was 35.25 Mbps, Report informs referring to Speedtest Global Index.

 

This is 30% more than in the same period last year.

 

The first place in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed in December 2023 was taken by Singapore (270.62 Mbit/s), and the last place by Cuba (2.5 Mbit/s).

 

In December, Azerbaijan ranked 59th among 146 countries in terms of mobile Internet speed (43.8 Mbit/s), dropping one step.

 

In terms of mobile Internet speed, the UAE took first place (303.21 Mbit/s), and Cuba took the last place (3.54 Mbit/s).

 

In the reporting month, Baku moved one notch ahead among 194 cities in terms of fixed broadband Internet speed and took 136th place (37.63 Mbit/s).

 

Beijing tops the ranking of cities with fixed broadband Internet access (298.24 Mbit/s), Havana (2.03 Mbit/s) ranked the last.

 

In December, Baku ranked 73rd among 169 cities in terms of mobile Internet speed (45.9 Mbit/s).

 

The first place in terms of mobile Internet speed is taken by Dubai (355.04 Mbit/s), and the last place by the capital of Sudan, Khartoum (3.03 Mbit/s).
