Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy held a meeting via videoconference to discuss issues arising from the meeting chaired by President Ilham Aliyev in connection with the holding of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change - COP29 - Azerbaijan next year.

Report informs citing the Ministry of Economy that the event was attended by Minister of Economy Mikail Jabbarov, President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovshan Najaf and heads of structural divisions of the ministry.

During the meeting, SOCAR provided a presentation on best international practice related to the COP, as well as information on the benefits that the COP provides to host countries in achieving climate goals.

"COP29 will become an important international platform for solving the most pressing global problems of humanity. Holding this event in Azerbaijan confirms our country's position as a responsible and reliable partner in solving global problems," the Ministry of Economy said in a release.
