The import of poultry meat to Azerbaijan from three US states has been restricted, XQ informs referring to the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency.

According to official data from the World Organization for Animal Health, outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza have been reported in the states of California, Washington and Alabama.

In this regard, to protect the territory of the republic from this infectious disease, a temporary restriction has been introduced on the import of live poultry and hatching eggs, poultry meat and prepared meat products from all types of poultry products (except for products subjected to heat treatment, which ensures the destruction of avian influenza viruses), feed for poultry and feed additives (except for feed and feed additives of plant origin, chemical and microbiological synthesis), equipment from the specified states used for the maintenance, slaughter and processing of poultry meat in accordance with the Terrestrial Animal Health Code.
