Tunisia arrested 21 individuals for alleged links to a terror group, the Tunisian National Guard said on Wednesday in a statement, Report informs via Xinhua.
Tunisian security units in several provinces across the country arrested 21 members of an extremist religious cell, including two women, according to a statement posted on the National Guard's Facebook page.
"These individuals were wanted by various security units for belonging to a terrorist organization," said the statement, adding that they have been taken into custody.
The statement gave no further details.
Tunisia has witnessed increased terrorist activities since 2011, in which dozens of security and military personnel, civilians, and foreign tourists have been killed.
