Holcim Azerbaijan proudly announces a major achievement: a 63% score in the UN Women Empowerment Principles program in 2024, reaffirming its position as an industry leader in diversity and inclusion.

Holcim's global strategy includes a steadfast commitment to promoting gender equality and sustaining an inclusive work environment. Despite the cement industry being traditionally seen as a male-dominated and physically demanding field, Holcim is proving that women can build successful careers and thrive in this sector.

Since August 2022, Holcim has been actively working to improve gender balance by following international standards that promote equal opportunities for women in business by joining the UN Women Empowerment Principles. As part of this commitment, the company conducted an assessment to evaluate workplace conditions and career opportunities for women. In 2022, Holcim’s first Gender Gap Analysis resulted in a 35% rating, identifying key areas for improvement.

Determined to make a real impact, Holcim launched a strategic initiative to introduce new policies, strengthen career development programs for women, and ensure equal opportunities across all levels.

“It is important for us to create favorable working conditions and a comfortable work environment for both women and men, ensuring all employees have opportunities for professional growth and development. Our goal is to be the employer of choice by offering equal career advancement prospects, supporting employee initiatives, and implementing sustainable corporate development solutions. We will continue moving forward, strengthening the principles of equality and inclusivity to make Holcim a company where every employee can reach their full potential" said Sergiu Stoicov, CEO of Holcim Azerbaijan.
