The Cultural Center named after Heydar Aliyev at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Uzbekistan has donated more than 500 books highlighting Azerbaijani culture, language, history, literature to the National Library of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi.
During the meeting, Umida Teshaboeva, Director of the National Library of Uzbekistan, underscored the close cooperation between the National Library and the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center.
She noted that a special corner set up at the National Library of Uzbekistan provides Uzbek readers with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the culture, art and history of the fraternal country of Azerbaijan.
Akif Marifli, Director of the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, noted that the Azerbaijani people has a long-standing tradition of reading culture, adding that the country preserves it as an invaluable asset.
The meeting also saw discussions on closer cooperation, implementation of presentations and projects, establishment of relations between the National Library of Uzbekistan and the libraries of Azerbaijan, replenishment of the library fund and etc.
