A delegation of 30 members of the Most Traveled People (MTP) club, representing 15 countries, visited the city of Shusha as part of their trip to Azerbaijan’s Karabakh and East Zangezur regions.

AZERTAC’s regional correspondent reports that the foreign travelers, led by MTP Founder Charles Veley, viewed the bullet-riddled monuments of prominent Azerbaijani figures such as Khurshidbanu Natavan, Bulbul, and Uzeyir Hajibeyli at Shusha’s Central Square.

They were briefed on the city’s history, its nearly 30-year-long Armenian occupation, and the ongoing restoration efforts.

The guests then toured the house of Khurshidbanu Natavan, the “Khan Gizi” spring, the Walls of Shusha Fortress, and the Shusha prison.

The visitors also enjoyed the stunning panorama of the Jidir Duzu plain.

During the three-day trip, the delegation is scheduled to travel by car along the route: Fuzuli – Khojavend – Shusha – Khankendi – Khojaly – Aghdam – Kalbajar – Lachin – Zangilan – Jabrayil.

This trip offers an excellent opportunity to promote the liberated territories within the framework of “dark tourism” and to showcase extensive construction and reconstruction works.

Over the past four years, major international travel delegations have visited Karabakh and East Zangezur thirteen times.
