The international conference on “Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons: Upholding Families’ Right to Know the Truth,” co-organized by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons and the International Committee of the Red Cross, concluded on Wednesday in Baku with the adoption of final declaration.

The document called on the parties to the armed conflict to share all available information, including maps of burial sites and any available information on missing persons. Furthermore, international organizations were invited to assist in clarifying the fate of persons missing as a result of armed conflicts by adopting relevant resolutions on the establishment of special mechanisms.

The participants expressed gratitude to the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the excellent organization of the conference, as well as for providing a valuable opportunity for conducting discussions.
