Pakistan’s Minister: Our country is committed to enhancing legal ties with Azerbaijan

Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar had a meeting with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov in capital Islamabad. During the meeting, the Minister reiterated Pakistan's commitment to fostering stronger cooperation with Azerbaijan in legal assistance.

Ambassador Khazar Farhadov emphasized Azerbaijan’s interest in expanding collaboration, particularly in the legal domain. Ambassador also urged support for Azerbaijani businesses operating in Pakistan, with a focus on feasibility studies and navigating the regulatory environment.

During the meeting, the Azeri Ambassador congratulated Pakistan on the recently signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the two nations, expressing optimism about its practical implementation and exploring areas of mutual interest.

Both sides discussed collaboration in legal education, training, and capacity building for key stakeholders within their respective justice systems. To facilitate this cooperation, it was agreed to establish a small working group to finalize modalities and open a communication channel between the two countries.

The Federal Minister highlighted the close ties between the two countries and proposed extending an invitation to the Azerbaijani Minister of Justice for an official visit to Pakistan. He further reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering stronger cooperation in legal assistance and welcomed discussions on legislative developments in Pakistan that provide new incentives for foreign investment.
