Participants of international conference on combating Islamophobia visit Shusha

Participants of the international conference “Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024” arrived in the city of Shusha, Report informs.

 

At the end of the two-day event (March 8-9), a trip is organized for the guests to Shusha, the cultural capital of the Islamic world in 2024.

 

The stop was the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque.

 

The conference, dedicated to the International Day against Islamophobia, was attended by 130 guests from more than 30 countries, including scientists, experts from international organizations, religious figures and representatives of non-governmental organizations, as well as local experts, representatives of government agencies, leaders of religious communities, etc.

 

The International Day against Islamophobia is celebrated on March 15. The decision to establish it was made at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Niamey, Niger, November 27-28, 2020.
