Canadian parliamentarian informed about Azerbaijan`s diaspora policy

Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan Fuad Muradov has met with a Canadian delegation in Baku.

 

Chandra Arya, MP, Member of the House of Commons of Canada, Ron East, publishing director of the prestigious Canadian Jewish media platform "Thej.ca", and Nigar Aliyeva, co-founder of the Azerbaijani weekend school "Karabakh" operating in Ottawa, participated in the meeting.

 

The chairman of the Committee highlighted the diaspora policy of Azerbaijani state. He hailed the close integration of Azerbaijanis living in Canada into socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of this country. He noted that parliamentarians such as Chandra Arya played a significant role in establishing cooperative relations between the parliamentarians of Ontario and Canada and the Azerbaijani community. He also thanked Chandra Arya for visiting the Azerbaijan House in Toronto.

 

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the delegation praised the activities of the Committee.

 

At the same time, the Canadian delegation got familiarized with the activities of the Diaspor TV and Diaspor FM channels.

 

The visit was carried out as part of a project implemented by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora which is aiming to inform the international community of facts about Azerbaijan.

 

It should be recalled that raising ceremonies of the tricolor flag of Azerbaijan took place in 2022 at the City Hall of Hamilton, Ontario on the occasion of 28 May Independence Day, in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on the occasion of 9 November Public Flag Day, and in 2023 in front of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario on the occasion of 28 May Independence Day. Furthermore, “Azerbaijani Heritage Day” was held in the Canadian Parliament this June.
