“Looking at Armenia's claims against Azerbaijan, we observe that, with the support of some of their patrons, they are attempting to keep the Minsk Group—an outdated tool with no real function—alive at all costs. There is no need for the Minsk Group today, and it cannot serve any purpose. If anyone attempts to revive it, such ideas would only be utopian,” stated Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, in an interview with journalists.

The President’s Assistant emphasized that when the Minsk Group was established, its foundation was based on resolving the conflict. “However, there is no conflict today. While the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan is ongoing, the Armenian side is once again attempting to sustain the Minsk Group, a useless tool, without showing any sincerity,” Hajiyev said.

He further noted Azerbaijan’s firm stance on this matter, stating: “We believe that resolving issues, especially those related to Armenia’s Constitution, will create better conditions for advancing the peace agenda in the region.”
