Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs met Tuesday with his Estonian counterpart Margus Tsahkna on the margins of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
They discussed prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia, including the post-conflict regional situation.
The sides lauded the development of the bilateral relations based on mutual respect and beneficial cooperation, stressing the importance of holding regular political consultations between Deputy Foreign Ministers in order to develop political dialogue.
Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna on the measures Azerbaijan has implemented in preparation for hosting the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
According to him, Azerbaijan is keen on collaborating with Estonia as part of COP29.
Minister Bayramov also provided detailed information about the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, as well as the ongoing normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The meeting also addressed the issues of mutual interest.
