Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili met with Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (PABSEC).
During the meeting, Asaf Hajiyev emphasized the critical role of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization, stressing the importance of continued and productive cooperation among the three countries.
The sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming session of the BSEC General Assembly, to be held in Bulgaria this November. It was noted that during the session, Bulgaria will hand over the chairmanship of the organization to Georgia, after which the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament will assume the role of Chairman of the BSEC.
Shalva Papuashvili stated that Georgia would take on the chairmanship with a strong sense of responsibility and work actively to lead the Parliamentary Assembly’s efforts.
The meeting also underscored the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Black Sea region, which is considered essential for realizing the full potential of the Middle Corridor.
