Participants of the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, dedicated to the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” visited Garabagh University in Khankendi.
Elshad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, highlighted the special importance of the visit to Garabagh University and informed the participants about the university’s activities and goals.
Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Garabagh University, gave a detailed video presentation about the university’s foundation history, fields of activity, and upcoming priorities. He emphasized that Garabagh University is forming as a higher education institution not only with regional but also international significance, equipped with modern technologies and built on a contemporary education model.
The rector provided comprehensive information about the building’s historical background, current infrastructure, and planned academic programs. He stressed the university’s unique place in Azerbaijan’s higher education system as a center of science and education bearing the name of Karabakh. He also shared his views on the university’s development strategy, its recognition on the international stage, and plans to attract foreign students in the future. Rector Bayramov introduced the newly opened Azikh Center at Garabagh University, providing detailed information about the center.
The participants explored the university and met its faculty members.
Scheduled to run from August 3 to 9, jointly organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the camp brings together 128 young Azerbaijanis from 61 countries, along with participants from other friendly nations.
To date, the summer camp has been held in the cities of Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, and Lachin. The organizing committee receives more than 3,000 applications annually from over 60 countries. So far, more than 700 young people have participated in the program.
