Khankendi hosts opening ceremony of sixth Summer Camp of Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth

The official opening ceremony of the 6th Summer Camp of Azerbaijani Diaspora Youth, dedicated to the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty," was held in the city of Khankendi.

Opening remarks were delivered by Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of Azerbaijan, Elchin Yusubov, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts, Nigar Hajiyeva, Deputy Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Issues of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aydan Ramazanova, Representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Shahin Bayramov, Rector of Garabagh University, and Yusif Valiyev, Acting Executive Director of the Youth Foundation.

Speakers at the event emphasized the special importance of holding the Summer Camp in Khankendi, highlighting the successful results of the diaspora policy under President Ilham Aliyev's leadership.

The event also featured the screening of a video highlighting President Ilham Aliyev’s raising the national flag of Azerbaijan in Khankendi and his historic speech, along with facts and figures about the history of the Diaspora Youth Summer Camps.

Scheduled to run from August 3 to 9, jointly organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the camp brings together 128 young Azerbaijanis from 61 countries, along with participants from other friendly nations.

The Diaspora Youth Summer Camp has attracted significant interest and popularity both within Azerbaijan and among diaspora communities abroad. Its growing appeal each year stands as a clear testament to its continued success.

To date, the summer camp has been held in the cities of Sheki, Shamakhi, Shusha, Nakhchivan, and Lachin. The organizing committee receives more than 3,000 applications annually from over 60 countries. So far, more than 700 young people have participated in the program.
