Azerbaijani ambassador presents credentials to Nepalese President

Elchin Huseynli, Azerbaijan’s incoming Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, presented his credentials to President Ramchandra Paudel.

President Paudel congratulated Ambassador Huseynli on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission. The Nepalese leader praised the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, particularly highlighting Nepal’s support for Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). He also expressed Nepal’s interest in further developing bilateral relations with Azerbaijan.

 

Ambassador Elchin Huseynli conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to President Paudel. The Nepalese leader thanked for the greetings and asked the diplomat to extend his own greetings to the Azerbaijani President.

The ambassador noted that the two countries would celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year and emphasized the recent positive developments in bilateral ties. He expressed hope for fully utilizing the existing potential for cooperation across various domains.

The diplomat also highlighted Azerbaijan’s support for Nepal and other least developed countries, both bilaterally and during Azerbaijan’s NAM Chairmanship from 2019 to 2023, mentioning the concrete steps Azerbaijan has taken to address the challenges faced by these countries. He described Azerbaijan’s hosting of COP29 as a continuation of this approach.

Huseynli expressed hope that the Nepalese President would visit Baku to attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit, held as part of COP29, at the invitation of the Azerbaijani President. He also emphasized Nepal’s support for Azerbaijan’s initiatives and efforts in climate action.

Lauding Azerbaijan’s efforts as the host of COP29, President Paudel confirmed Nepal’s participation in the upcoming World Leaders Climate Action Summit.
