Romanian Senate delegation receives update on preparations for Azerbaijan’s snap parliamentary elections

Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC), met with Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș, head of the observation mission from the Romanian Senate, who is in Azerbaijan to observe the upcoming snap parliamentary elections.

Providing the delegation with detailed information about the preparations for the election process, Mazahir Panahov pointed out that all conditions created for the excellent conduct of elections.

Panahov further stated that 990 candidates are competing for 125 parliamentary seats.

Panahov also highlighted that the election preparations are in line with Azerbaijan's legislation and that special attention will be given to accommodating impaired voters on the election day. Additionally, 1,000 web cameras have been installed across the constituencies to ensure transparency.

Cristian-Augustin Niculescu-Țâgârlaș expressed hope that the snap parliamentary elections would be conducted at a high level and in full compliance with international standards, further contributing to Azerbaijan's development.
