“There is no alternative to deepening peaceful and friendly relations between the countries of the region,” said Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze as he commented on the visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Georgia.

“I welcome this visit. Taking into account the difficult processes taking place in the Middle East, there is no alternative to peace. We have friendly relations with Azerbaijan. Such visits by the leaders of our countries contribute to the deepening of friendly relations,” Kakha Kaladze stated.

According to him, unlike the President of Azerbaijan, some European politicians deliberately avoid discussing Georgia’s importance in the Middle Corridor.

“Our geopolitical position is important for everyone. Therefore, the use of Georgia in this corridor is desirable. The reason why some European politicians do not mention Georgia’s role in this matter is a political decision. In recent years, we have witnessed blackmail, insults, and threats against our country. This attitude is unacceptable. We know that the reason for this is that we do not take steps that would harm the economic development of the country and the Georgian people, and that is why they have an aggressive attitude towards Georgia,” Kakha Kaladze added.
